EXCLUSIVE: @FPLREACTION
Hey everyone, Matchday 9 is here!
There may be lots of rounds left to play, but gaining rank at this point can be extremely tough. It can be easy to be tricked by player ownership and thinking you are picking a differential, when in reality, most top managers are picking that player or players too!
So, here, I’m going to cover exactly what is going to be template, and what is going to be different.
Brest v PSG is a great place to start. If you think that doubling up on the PSG midfield is different, it is not. Owning both Dembele and Barcola, along with Hakimi will be pretty standard. In, fact a lot of people will be captaining Dembele.
To go different in this game you will need to go for either Kvaratskhelia ahead of one of Barcola or Dembele, Pacho over Hakimi, double defence, or the triple up in midfield.

Manchester City v Real Madrid is a game full of differentials. I think Haaland or Vinicius may become template, but any other asset I think is a differential: the likes of Mbappe, Foden, Bellingham, or owning two or more assets in the game.
Juventus v PSV is an interesting one. The only template move in this game is the double up of Di Gregorio and Gatti in defence. I think the likes of Muani, PSV defence, and any of the PSV attackers is different.
Picking any player or players in the Sporting CP v Dortmund game will be different. That goes for the likes of both Gyokeres and Guirassy too! The game could be a tight one and I don’t expect many to be investing in this one!

Club Brugge will be template central. Nobody is probably going for Club Brugge assets, Atalanta triple defence or De Keteleare over Retegui, but don’t think that doubling up on the Atalanta defence and picking Retegui will be different. Most will go for Hien and Zappacosta with the goalkeeper out due to injury.
Celtic v Bayern is another fixture UCL Fantasy managers will be going all in on. To actually go different in this game you could back: Celtic asset(s), double or triple Bayern defence, and maybe Kimmich, Sane or Coman. However, it is highly likely that many will go for triple Bayern attack with Kane, Olise and Musiala, along with zero or one Bayern defenders.
Feyenoord v Milan could be a tasty one. The only template players in this one will likely be Pulisic and Hernandez. Doubling up on the Milan defence, picking Feyenoord players, and doubling up on the Milan attack could be different.
Monaco v Benfica is the go to game for differentials. You can go anywhere here: single defence, double defence on either side, one attacker. It could be a great fixture to gain rank for those looking to gain rank.
So to summarise, I think template will be:
Double PSG attack and one defender.
One of Haaland or Vinicius Junior
Single/Double defence
Retegui with double Atalanta defence
Triple Bayern attack and one defender
Pulisic and Hernandez
Everything else I think could be different.
