Before we take a look at some of our fantastic articles for Matchday 3, international fantasy football whizz @FPLReaction reveals his favourite Limitless team to the large proportion of managers using it.
EXCLUSIVE: @FPLREACTION’ LIMITLESS DRAFT
Hey everyone! What a round we have in store for us! The fixtures are very awkward so many managers are activating their Limitless chip, and I don’t blame them.
Fortunately my team looks ok, so I will not be using the Limitless this week. But, I have built a draft that I think could do very well, take a look:
In goal I have decided to go for two home sides I would back to keep a clean sheet. If Arsenal’s David Raya doesn’t clean sheet then I would back Manchester City’s Ederson.
I also really like the Leverkusen wing-backs this week. They have managed two clean sheets in two matches but they are also super attacking, they are basically cheap attackers. I find picking between them very difficult as well because although Alejandro Grimaldo had a better 2023/24 campaign offensively, Jeremie Frimpong has managed three assists in his two games.
Joining the backline is Manchester City’s Rico Lewis, who I think is essential this week, Arsenal’s Gabriel who has huge attacking threat from set pieces and a home match against Shakhtar and Theo Hernandez of Milan. The latter in my opinion is the wisest captaincy option for the Tuesday if Bukayo Saka is out.
Midfield is filled with: Ademola Lookman who faces a woeful Celtic with Atalanta, Christian Pulisic who faces Club Brugge at home with Milan, and penalty taker Florian Wirtz of Leverkusen. I personally think you simply have to own all three if you are using the Limitless this week.
Completing the midfield is the ever consistent Mohamed Salah, who no matter the opposition, excluding him out is very dangerous, and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka. If we hear news that Saka is starting then he is probably an essential, both as a home asset and as the prime captaincy option. But, if we hear nothing then I would probably switch to Leandro Trossard or Raphinha.
Up front you just have to own Erling Haaland for second day captaincy, no excuses, just add him. With him sits Ollie Watkins. Aston Villa are in elite home form and so is their star man Watkins. I think he could be a really exciting pick for the Tuesday. Along both is probably my favourite striker in Europe at the moment, Mateo Retegui. I personally think based on his relentless form, he is one of the best players who can own going into Matchday 3.
There are plenty of other options I would consider, like a Phil Foden or a Kylian Mbappe, but the above is most likely how I would line up if using the Limitless chip.
Good luck this week! Oh, take a look at the the articles below, they are very helpful!
