The FPL Challenge Hack

Hey Guys, so, FPL Challenge is here and a lot of people are excited for, including myself. Not only does it seem to be a nice play for casual players but it also allows us, more focused fantasy players, to strategize.

However, to strategize we need to know exactly we could do that and that’s something I am going to run through here.

As the game launched and the rules released I quickly realised that there were some loopholes in the game. I think I was quick to notice this as a MLS Fantasy player, a game that allows similar actions.

So, what are the loop holes?

I discovered that FPL Challenge managers were able to do three different things, those three strategies include:

  • Starting four players who will not start, whether that be due to injury or any other reason. Bench four players who start early in the week. If those four bench players do well then don’t make any changes to the players who won’t start and the players off the bench will be automatically subbed in with auto subs.

  • Starting four players who play later in the week and bench four players who play early in the week. If the players on the bench do well then downgrade the players in your starting team to four players who will not play. If the early playing assets on the bench do not perform, then do nothing and await the performance of your late playing players.

  • Captaincy - Place the captaincy on a player who will not play, place the vice captaincy on a player who plays early in the week. If your vice captain does well then do not upgrade your captain and allow the vice captain to take the captain points. If the vice captain does not do well, then simply upgrade your non-playing captain to a player you think will do well.

FPL Challenge Team Reveal

To put the things I highlighted above into practise, here is an example:

So firstly to confirm I am no pro at this or am I absolutely certain it will work until after the first round.

However, as you can see I have three players who will not play in the starting line-up. If I am happy with how the players on the bench perform in the earlier games then I will allow autosub to kick in and replace the four flagged players. If the early players on the bench do not perform then I will upgrade them to players playing in the late Saturday game and the Sunday matches.

You can also see that I have the vice captaincy on Cole Palmer and captaincy on a player who will not play. If Palmer returns enough points then I will leave the captaincy on the player who won’t play and get the captain points from Palmer (as vice captain takes the captaincy when your original captain doesn’t play). If Palmer fails to return a good amount of points then I will bring Mohamed Salah in for the flagged player and place the captaincy in him.

It is also worth noting that even If Palmer returns as Vice captain then I will still want Salah in. I would do that by selling Garnacho for him.

So, lets see if this works in the first round, good luck guys!
