DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 28 BUS TEAM

One thing is for sure this week: Pervis Estupinan (£5.0m) is getting sold. His replacement will be Luton’s Alfie Doughty (£4.7m). As someone who is not planning to Free Hit in Blank Gameweek 29, Doughty is great for the next two Gameweeks. With just one free transfer available, any further moves will be for hits. The sensible version of FPL General would leave it at that and avoid hits but I like the idea of a more aggressive approach. I don’t want to play Pau Torres (£4.6m) or Pedro Porro (£5.7m) this week (if they’re even available) as I think there will be goals for both teams in that fixture. It looks like Amari’i Bell (£3.9m) will miss the double so I’m tempted to replace him with another Luton defender, most likely Teden Mengi (£3.9m).

When there’s a chance I buy two Luton players for the double, why not go all out and buy three of them? Selling Haaland for Carlton Morris (£5.1m) as part of a -8 is on my mind. Have I lost the plot completely? Probably. However, It is a viable switch for those non-Free Hitting in Gameweek 29. We can get three games of Morris with decent fixtures versus one game for Haaland away to Liverpool. It’s a lot easier to do it when the Wildcard is still available. I need to give it more thought, but I’m leaning towards doing it. What could possibly go wrong? He’s only the best striker in the world.

Losing Haaland would open the door for a Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) transfer for free in Gameweek 30 for a possible captaincy at home to Brighton, that’s if I hold off until Gameweek 31 for the Wildcard and can stomach another Gameweek without Haaland at home to Arsenal.

Dominic Solanke (£7.1m) is the standout captain this week but if Morris comes in, going against the crowd again will be under consideration with a Morris captaincy. Buying three Luton players will probably be enough madness for one week, though, and Solanke is likely to lead the troops into battle.

Best of luck this weekend everyone and check out this week’s General’s Orders video and the latest episode of the 59th Minute Podcast.
