Double Gameweek 38 Newsletter

For the last time this season it’s time to get those teams set up and ready to battle. Gameweek 38 brings to a close the 2022/23 season and with it mini league position and overall ranks will be finalised.

This is the final opportunity for managers to secure bragging rights. One of the best opportunities for managers to ensure a green arrow is to opt for players who have something left to play for.

Here we take a look at the teams who have something to fight for, as well as some of the best differentials.

Exclusive Newsletter article

Gameweek 38 neatly divides in two. The teams who have something to play for and the ones who don’t. The teams who have a reason to win on the final day are the ones who are likely to be the best ones to invest in for Gameweek 38.

Aston Villa, Spurs and Brentford can still all qualify for the Europa Conference League if they win on the final day. If Aston Villa win they will qualify. If Spurs win and Villa lose, then the North London club will qualify. If both Spurs and Villa lose and Brentford beat Man City then they would qualify.

At the other end of the league Everton, Leicester and Leeds all need a win to try and secure their Premier League status for next season. If Everton beat Bournemouth they will remain in the Premier League and relegate Leeds and Leicester. If Leicester win and Everton don’t then they will be safe. If Leeds win and Leicester and Everton both fail to then they will be safe.

So who are the top three differentials for Gameweek 38?

Son Heung-Min

Son hasn’t had the best season by. his usual standards, especially after having won the Golden Boot last season. Son is currently owned by just 6.2% of the game and has never blanked at Elland Road where he plays in Gameweek 38.

Leeds are likely to play a high line against Spurs as they need to win in order to secure Premier League football next season. This will benefit Son who will be able to get in behind which is his best game. Son averages 7.75 points per match against Leeds and if Spurs win they have a chance of European football next season.

James Tarkowski

Everton need one more win to stay in the Premier League and their safety is in their own hands. Since Bournemouth secured their Premier League status for next season they have dropped the pace and have failed to score in the last two matches. This bodes well for the Tarkowski clean sheet.

In addition Tarkowski is a great threat from set pieces. The defender comes up against a Bournemouth side who have given away 181 set pieces this season, more than any other club.

Tarkowski is owned by just 4.0% of managers.

Jacob Ramsey

This week Ramsey has been named as Aston Villa’s young player of the season. This will motivate him heading in to their final game. In addition with one more win Villa will secure Europa Conference football for next season.

Ramsey has returned back to back eight point returns against Spurs and Liverpool in Gameweeks 36 and 37. With then exception of Douglas Luiz he is the Villain’s most in form player. At just 1.4% owned he is the perfect differential for Gameweek 38.

Congratulations to Luton who were promoted to the Premier League for the 2023/24 season via the Playoff Final!
