Hey everyone!

Its been a turbulent journey so far and unpredictability continues this week.

Inevitable rotation lays ahead and that is something I am going to touch upon here. As well as this I am also going to be highlighting some players I think everyone should own going into Matchday 3.

Starting with rotation, as mentioned in a recent podcast, rotation is always over exaggerated in Matchday 3 of the EURO'. Groups never always go the way we expect them to go and most participants still have something to play for.

Below I am going to highlight every side and their permutations, along with who I think we could see rotate in or out.

Germany - Playing for first place and will achieve it if they avoid defeat against Switzerland. We see the line-ups for this match but I wouldn't expect Germany to make wholesale changes.

Switzerland - Avoid defeat and they will advance. There is little chance we see them rotate.

Scotland - It's a must win basically, I don't see them rotating at all.

Hungary - Have to win and win well, for that reason they won't rotate. Although, Dominik Szoboszlai hasn't trained so he could be worth monitoring.

Spain - Spain are top of the Group regardless. We will likely see wholesale changes here. I think we are highly likely to see Alejandro Grimaldo in and Marc Cucurella out, I also think we could see the entire central midfield rested, both Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams left out and potentially even Alvaro Morata. Coming in we could see Mikel Oyarzabal, Ferran Torres, Mikel Merino, Fermin Lopez and even David Raya for Unai Simon. Rodri is also suspended.

Albania - They need a result so we won't see rotation there.

Italy - Will advance if they avoid defeat against Croatia. If they lose they could exit. I don't see Italy rotating at all.

Croatia - Croatia need to win or bank on Albania getting a result from Spain. There are lots of permutations here but the bottom line is they won't rotate, they can't afford to.

England - Win and they top the Group but they can't finish lower than third. England need to win so will start most key players. Players most susceptible to rotation include Trent Alexander-Arnold and Phil Foden, every other player feels nailed for me.

Denmark - If they beat Serbia then they advance. The bottom line here is they are unlikely to rotate. Although two of Joakim Maehle, Victor Kristiansen and Alexander Bah will start, one will be dropped.

Slovenia - Need a result and the right result elsewhere, they won't rotate.

Netherlands - Netherlands will claim a top two place in the Group if they avoid defeat. However, they will be hoping to better France' result in the other game to claim top spot. I can't really see much rotation here. I think we could well see the same starting line-up as we saw against France after they impressed. This means we should see Denzel Dumfries, Xavi Simons and Memphis Depay. There is also a good chance Jeremy Frimpong starts at RW again.

France - France will advance if they avoid defeat. They will also want to better Netherlands' result to top the Group. Rotation is unlikely based on the above. I think if anyone is at risk it's the attackers. Kylian Mbappe trained behind the scenes in a match so should start. Theo Hernandez should also start, along with regulars like Mike Maignan, N'Golo Kante and Antoine Griezmann.

Austria - Have a good chance of progressing regardless. If they beat Netherlands then they will finish in the top two. We shouldn't see much if any rotation from them.

Poland - Are the only side who definitely cannot advance to the last 16. Poland may or may not rotate.

Romania, Belgium, Slovakia and Ukraine are all on three points in Group E so they won't rotate.

Portugal - have won the Group so they could make wholesale changes. Rafael Leao is banned so he won't start. We should see Diogo Jota and Joao Felix come in. Rotation at the back is highly likely, especially with centre-backs and full-back vying for spots. With that in mind Joao Cancelo could be a major risk, along with Pepe. It would make sense to give Bruno Fernandes a rest but I think he still has a good chance of playing and will also want to play. Rui Patricio could well come in for Diogo Costa after some rotation in the pre-season friendlies. One player who I think will want to start regardless is Cristiano Ronaldo, I think he has a very good chance. But, if he starts, how many minutes will he get is another question.

Türkiye - If they avoid defeat to Czechia they should finish as runners up, they also have a good chance of Qualifying either way. It isn't a must win game for Türkiye so we could see Arder Guler either miss out or have his minutes managed again after a recent injury.

Czechia - Czechia cannot lose, if they do they will exit. Czechia should not rotate.

Georgia - also need a result so shouldn't rotate.

Limitless Essentials

There are some teams and players I think you simply have to own this week.

Belgium are a great side to start with. Their Matchday 1 result means they need a result this week and as stated above, we shouldn’t see any rotation at all from them

Ukraine lay ahead for Belgium and they are a side who won’t lay down and defend. This makes me think we are going to see a lot of space in behind for the Belgium attackers.

With the above in mind, look no further than the double up of Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne. Both players contributed towards the goals in Matchday 2 and both have massive potential going into any given game, the stats also back up that claim.

I also think you have to back the Belgium defence. I think as long as you back them you can take a punt here. Wout Faes is the ball recovery specialist, Timothy Castagne can push forward into some very advanced positions and Koen Casteels could be a great goalkeeper option if struggling for one.

I also think you have to invest in the England frontline. As underwhelming as they have been so far in general, Slovenia are a much weaker team on paper and England have the talent to win and win well.

In that case Jude Bellingham could be the safest pick. With question marks around Harry Kane (who is still a good option by the way), Bukayo Saka consistently being subbed early and Phil Foden disappointing I think Bellingham could be the best in terms of gametime.

Bellingham seems to be playing more minutes than the other attackers, which of course is a bonus, but he is also being played in his favoured position.

We should also look to the England defence. For me Jordan Pickford and Marc Guehi are the standout options with both players managing 4+ points in both of their matches so far.

I could go on for ever but I won’t. So, other than the above I also really like Kylian Mbappe, Theo Hernandez, Federico Dimarco (for a Friday captaincy option), A Germany attacker (see line-ups later), Dominik Szoboszlai (if announced fit after missing training and maybe even good old Mittelstadt (even at his price - don’t be tempted to upgrade).

That’s all for me but you should check out our articles below!
